Tomorrow night, (Wednesday) is the very first candle of the year in the Khanukiyah (The Khanike Menorah)!
The holiday of Khanike (Yiddische spelling) commemorates Jewish national liberation from the rule of the Greco-Syrian empire ruled by Antiochus IV and helps us remember the hand of HaShem in influencing, inspiring and accomplishing our freedom & sovereignty. The Hebrew word Khanukah (חֲנֻכָּה) means “dedication”.
During Khanike, we are to re-dedicate ourselves to HaShem & Halakha.
Please accept this Khanike gift of Jewish music from HADAR:
While you’re at it, check out this HADAR interview in TERUAH Jewish Music webzine, which discusses, among other topics, a bit about this album:

INFO ABOUT THESE RELEASES:
Recorded/released in the Hebrew year 5773 (also known as 2013), the new CD from HADAR, “Mesora Khadasha" (Hebrew for "New Tradition") contains twelve never-before-released tracks with Hebrew/Judaic/Israel themes ranging from martial to ambient to harsh industrial. “Roots & Branches" is the language used in Kabbalah studies, and is a fitting title for this full-length album featuring a unified Kabbalistic theme. The liner notes include information on what Kabbalistic books should be read along with the album. Most of the music on this album was composed visually rather than audibly, meaning it was all recorded/mixed down with the visual monitor’s levels as the only guide and without the artist being able to hear the sounds until after production. The result is a beautifully strange album full of lush & atmospheric ambient soundscapes interspersed with the powerful words & melodies of Hebrew Prayer & Kabbalistic texts. Order your copy at: http://roots-and-branches.tk
HADAR with SHLOMO YEHUDAH “Ha-Arvut" is a collaborative album featuring 10 songs of Military Industrial-Pop, Post-Rock & Martial Electro with Judaic & Kabbalistic Themes. The title is Hebrew, meaning "The Bond". Order your copy at: http://ha-arvut.tk

To a sweet happy & healthy New Year to all the People Israel!
As we approach Rosh Hashana & Yom Kippur, remember the meaning of these days and their importance to us. Pray sincerely for our people and our Nation of Israel. If you do not regularly attend synagogue services, this time of year is a good time to start.
